Netherlands-based Tibetan singer/songwriter Namgyal Lhamo has been
awarded Best Female Solo Artist from India/Tibet at the 2007
International Music Awards held by Britain's Musicaid along with
American partners BroadJam Inc.

Her power-house track "Changkha" from the newly released The Enchanted
Land ( Silk Road) ushered in votes from International audiences through
a complex and detailed voting system that lasted over 50 days. The album
has been brought out by Deep Emotions (India).

This is a rare occasion when Tibet has found a mention in a major
international music award category, proving that music has the power and
reach to cut across man made barriers, clearly indicating that artistic
boundaries are limitless.

Last July, Namgyal Lhamo was awarded the Best Female Artist at the 2007
Tibetan Music Awards held in Dharamshala, where the Dalai Lama lives.

Her songs are now published by Deep Emotions/Universal Music Publishing.
She released two albums this year: the Tibetan classical inspired Pure
and the contemporary The Enchanted Land on the Indian label Silk Road,
distributed in Europe and the USA by Harmonia Mundi.
