Kathmandu, Dec. 19, 2007: Minister for Foreign Affairs Sahana Pradhan
met with Vice-minister of United Front Work Department of the Communist
Party of

China, Sita, Tuesday and discussed about the road links between
Nepal-Tibet to further strengthen the people to people ties between
Nepal and China.

Vice-minister Sita is on a five-day visit to Nepal along with some
Tibetologists and celebrities on the eve of the inauguration of a
two-day seminar in

Kathmandu. The delegation would also open the 'China Tibetan Culture
Forum-Kathmandu' which is going to be established in Nepal. The seminar
on China

Tibetan Culture is going to be started from December 19 with the joint
effort of China Association for Preservation and Development of Tibetan
Culture

(CAPDTC) and Nepal Arniko Society.

The team would study possibilities to boost the connectivity through
road links between Nepal and Tibet, said Lok Bahadur Kshetri, an
official who looks after

China desk at the Ministry. The meeting today focused on the cultural
issues and discussed the ways to boost cultural and traditional,
religious ties between

the two friendly nations, informed Kshetri.

During the five-day visit, Sita is scheduled to meet Prime Minister
Girija Prasad Koirala on Wednesday and Chief Justice Kedar Prasad Giri
the following day.

Sita will also meet with Home Minister and Minister for Law and Justice
and Parliamentary Affairs.

The CPC central committee also met with minister for Culture, Tourism
and Civil Aviation Prithivi Subba Gurung at the Ministry and discussed
about the issues

of the bilateral interest Tuesday.
