Beijing - China hopes that particular states and the world at large will
deny support to the Dalai Lama, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Jiang Yu
told a Thursday press briefing.
"We hope that no country will give support to the activities of the
Dalai Lama," she said.
"The Dalai Lama is not simply a cleric, he is trying to undermine the
country's unity, split China and spoil its relations with other states,"
Jiang said.
The diplomat commented on the Dalai Lama's plans to voice a peaceful
protest during the Olympic Games in Beijing.
