Tibetan and Canadian youth meet to discuss engagement for Tibet

July 22, 2016

July 25, 2016 – In a report released today titled, “Canadian Youth Engagement for Tibet”, Tibetan and non-Tibetan university students reflect upon the opportunities and challenges they have experienced working as interns for the Canada Tibet Committee and for the Parliamentary Friends of Tibet.

The report summarizes an exchange dialogue which took place in two parts – the first during the parliamentary roundtable in Ottawa (June 8, 2016), and the second as a day-long workshop in Montreal (June 13, 2016).

Outcomes of the exchange include a commitment to reinvigorate outreach in Canadian universities and within other campaign networks such as those around climate change.  Efforts will also be made to connect with young people from different countries through participation in the World Social Forum to be held in Montreal next month.
