Seven detained for anti-China activities

KATHMANDU, September 26, 2012: Acting on a special tip off, a police team deployed from the Metropolitan Police Circle Boudha raided an office at Boudha and picked up seven persons.

The arrestees have been identified as Rinjin Dorje (57), Dawa Dhinle (27), Bharge (30), Tenzing Donchen (31), Doma Chenjong (31), Tenzing Choyejan and Nubu Doma (26).

Police informed that they were indulging in anti-China activities. Meanwhile, police took the documents and six computers under control.

According to police, they raided the office suspecting Voice-Over-Internet Protocol (VOIP) operation. Police have also recovered pamphlets, magazines and documents from the scene.

Police said the case is under investigation.
