Chinese government`s objection to Kalon Kalsang Taklas official meetings

In front of the Norwegian Parliament Kalon Kalsang Takla officially
received by reprentativ from the oposition party MP Mr. Olamic Thomassen
and ruling party MP Mr Olav Gunner Ballo who is also Chairman of
parliamentary group for Tibet.

Kalon Kalsang Taklas trip to Denmark and Norway, which is a part of her
Europe tour, has been a great success with tight schedules and wide
media coverage despite Chinese threat to cancel billion dollar
contracts. In both countries she was met by MPs, Foreign Policy
Committee of Parliaments, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Norwegian Nobel
Committee, Industrialist, Think Tank cooperates, Amnesty, NGOs, Tibet
Support groups and Tibetan Communities.

Media coverage of her main message is to send fact finding delegations
by international community into Tibet, the need for dialogue between His
Holiness the Dalai Lama’s representatives and the Chinese government and
respect for humans rights in Tibet and China. Her messages was covered
extensively by the media and broadcast by national and private TV
channels, popular talk shows and major newspapers of respective countries.

In Denmark she was a the chief guest of Socialist People`s Party (SF)
congress where she addressed to over 700 delegates, and was received
with standing ovation as she entered the podium and after her talk.
“This is their way of showing support to our course and the events in
Tibet. I am deeply touched ” said Mrs. Takla.

She was met with same support in Norway when she was asked to address a
seminar on Tibet by the think tank corporate Civita,.Leader of the
Norwegian Tibet Committee, Mrs. Chungdak Koren was one of the four
panelists which included a member of the opposition party in the
Norwegian parliament, an expert on China and a member of the National
Olympic Committee, who is a former athlete . This seminar was live
telecast. The participant of seminar included, diplomats,
industrialists, and staff from Chinese embassy and other Chinese.

Later Today Mrs Takla is scheduled to have meetings with members of
working group of Norwegian experts for Norway – China human right
dialog. She will also pay a visit to The International Peace Research
Institute, Oslo (PRIO)

She is schedule to leave Norway for Sweden on 19 April .
