The US Tibet House has announced that rock icon Iggy Pop has joined the
line-up for its 20th annual benefit concert, which will be held on February
26 at Carnegie Hall. Pop joins minimalist composer Philip Glass, Senegalese
performer Baaba Maal, gypsy punks Gogol Bordello, Irish musician Pierce
Turner, punk high priestess Patti Smith, guitarist Mike Campbell and piano
pop songstress Regina Spektor on the bill.

The non-profit Tibet House was founded by His Holiness the Dalai Lama in
1987 to preserve the culture and art of western Tibet, which has been
threatened since the Chinese invasion in 1950. The annual concerts are
intended to fund the House's organizations, although a portion of the
profits are also given to selected charities or non-profits. This year one
of the recipients will be the Tibetan Community Of New York And New Jersey.
