A SCOT went on hunger strike in India yesterday in support of Tibetans
arrested during a protest march.

Leanne McKenzie, 27, from Irvine, Ayrshire, vowed to keep the strike
up until the Free Tibet protesters were released.

She was among about 20 Western marchers arrested on the march from
Dharamsala in India - the HQ of Tibet's government in exile - to the
border with China.

They were released but decided to join the Tibetans, who are still in
police cells on hunger strike.

Leanne had been volunteering in India when she heard about the march.

Police said the detained protesters would appear in court in 24 hours.
