Dear President Obama,

I am a Tibetan living in London and am currently
writing to express my sincere "Thank you" to you
and your Administration for officially meeting
His Holiness the Dalai Lama, the Spiritual and
Temporal Leader of the six-million Tibetan
people, at the White House on 18th February.

This much-publicised meeting between the two
leaders of the Tibetan and American people sent a
very strong signal worldwide, particularly to
Beijing and Tibetans inside Tibet, that the core
issue of Tibet has not been forgotten even after
60 years of China’s military occupation of Tibet.

After nearly 51 years in exile under the
leadership of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and the
progressive democratic institution of the Tibetan
Government-in-exile, the voiceless Tibetans
inside Tibet continue to look towards Dharamsala
with the hope that the leader of Tibetan people
will return to Tibet one day so that they can pay
their respects and worship freely.
