March 10th Commemoration events across Canada

Various dates

Please join us in commemorating the 52nd anniversary of the Tibetan National Uprising
In 1949 the army of the People’s Republic of China invaded Tibet and began a cruel and oppressive occupation that continues to this day. On March 10, 1959 the Tibetan people rose up against their oppressors, but the revolt was brutally put down. Thousands of Tibetans were killed and thousands more, including the Dalai Lama, fled into exile in India. This day is known as the Tibetan National Uprising Day and its anniversary is commemorated each year in cities around the world.
Please book these dates today in your calendar to come out and show your support for Tibet on this the 52nd anniversary of the uprising. Tibet needs your support and must hear our voice.
Montreal supporters are invited to attend the commemoration at Noon, March 10th on Parliament Hill. The commemoration will be followed by a protest at the Chinese embassy (515 St. Patrick Street) at 3:00 p.m.
