Tibet House Announces 10th Tibet and Himalayan Festival in Paris

Join and experience the rich cultural heritage of
Tibet and the Himalayan region at the upcoming festival in Paris

Dharamshala -- Tibet House will be organising the
10th Tibet and Himalayan Festival in the French
capital on 11th and 12th September 2010. It will
be held during a week end at a well known public
park in the eastern Paris - Pagode du Bois de Vincennes.

The festival showcase the rich culture and
traditions of the people of Tibet and the
Himalayan regions. It is expected to attract 6,000 participants.

The festival offers an opportunity for an
exposition and sale of handicrafts and ethnic
articles of the Himalayan regions, of religious
centres and related organisations.

Venerable Sogyal Rinpoche will give a talk on
spiritual advice for world peace whereas Mr.
Claude Arpi will speak on the environment of the
Himalayan region and the issues of rivers
originating from the Tibetan plateau. Sand
Mandala construction by the monks of the Drepung
Monastery and a premier of the documentary film
on the Making of the Tintin in Tibet will also be presented.

The festival showcase a special evening concert
dedicated to Tibet on Saturday 11th September.
The artists are Mr Raghunath Manet, an Indian
classical dancer and musician, Mr Narendra
Bataju, a Nepalese classical musician and the
Tibetan singers and musicians, Tenzin Gonpo and Techung.

Well known French actress Veronique Jannot has
accepted to be a patron of the festival and will
be reading a French translation of a set of Buddhist prayers.
