Home Department Announces Vocational Training for Unemployed Tibetan Youths

Dharamshala -- The home department of the Central
Tibetan Administration has announced vocational
training in job-oriented courses for the
unemployed Tibetan youths. The training will commence from 17 November 2010.

The training will be held at Institute for Small
Trade Learning in Nelamangala in Bangalore, South
India. Those interested in doing the training
should register before 15 October at their
respective settlement offices or at the Department of Home.

Employment generating courses, including basic
and advance courses in hair styling, medical
transcription, beauty and hairdressing, carpentry
and tailoring would be offered.

Besides beauty therapy, carpentry and tailoring,
medical transcription today has become a
well-paid and highly demanded job. A beginner
starts with a monthly income of around Rs.
8,000/- and as the speed and skill improve, the
earnings will increase accordingly.

Other courses that would be taught during the
training are cookery, Microsoft certified in
system engineering, computerised training for
servicing of cell phones and auto mechanic and driving course.

The home department said it will provide start-up
soft loan for setting up of micro-enterprise after the training.

Course Name:   BASIC & ADVANCE COURSE IN HAIR DRESSING
Duration:      6 months (including both basic &
advance, and 2 month on-job training)

Course Brief Contents: Hair structures, skin &
scalp disorders, health in salon, consultation,
etiquette, retailing, hairdressing tools, long
hairdressing equipments, roller setting,
shampoos, conditioners, treatment, methodology,
blowdry, technical and various cuts.

Scope: He/She can set-up Hair salon or get employed in related trade.

Course Name:   MEDICAL TRANSCRIPTION
(It is Conversion/Typing of voice data of the
doctors into electronic text form)
Duration:      6 months
Eligibility:   Class Xth passed

Course Brief Contents: Will be trained in
Medicine, English, Computer, Typing, Medical
Transcription, Americanism & Listening skills.

Scope: A Medical Transcriptionist today could
start earning anything between Rs. 8,000.00 to
10,000.00 per month and for a good performer, the sky is the limit.

facials, eyebrows threading, bleaching, waxing,
shampoos & conditioning, hair structure, styling,
cuts & colouring, perm & neutralize hair, various
massages (leg, hand, head, back, stomach & body),
various make up/make over (eye, remedial,
camouflage, photography, evening, model, bridal),
first aid, hygiene & health, sanitation &
sterilization, bacteriology, nutrition, anatomy &
physiology, cells, skin biology, science &
disorders, nail science, colour chemistry.

Scope: He/She can set-up Beauty parlour/shop or
get employed in Beauty related trade.

Duration:      18 months (6 months Basic & 12 months Advance)

measurements, Making of small boxes, Designing,
Furniture & fixtures, Use of plywood and block
board, lamination, Making of portrait frame,

tools and heavy machine, Making of Choe-shum
(Altar) - both Kunga Rewa and Chagam, Sofa sets
(consists of 1 long chair, 2 side chairs and 1

& Pant, School Uniform Skirt, Salwar Kurta,
Estimation of cloth requirements, General
Maintenance of sewing machines, Stitching by
Hand: Running, Button Hole, Hamming, Traditional
Button Knot etc. Stitching by Machine(straight,
curved, cornered) Door Screen, Window Shampo, Various types of bags & purses.

Scope: He/She can set-up Tailoring shop or get employed in Tailoring centres.

Course Name:   AUTO MECHANIC & DRIVING COURSE
Duration:      6 months
Eligibility:   Class Vth passed & above 18 years of age.

Course Brief Contents: Workshop equipments,
safety precautions, heat & temperature, pressure,
two & four stroke vehicles, petrol & diesel
engine vehicles, engine construction & parts,
systems of automobile vehicles, two wheeler
mechanism, basic electricity and units, Ohm's
law, battery & ignitions system & types, staring
meters, gauges & wiring circuits of lights &
gauges, auto air conditioning & servicing etc.

Scope: He can set-up Mechanic shop or get employed in related trade.

Duration:      3 months

Electronics. The very latest communication
