Condolences upon the death of long time Tibet supporter, Joe Dorscher

May 23, 2016

Canada Tibet Committee, May 17, 2016 - With great sadness, we learned this week of the passing of long time Tibet activist Joe Dorscher on May 13, 2016. Joe was a dedicated Tibet supporter, a valued leader of the CTC’s Victoria, BC chapter, and a friend of the west coast Tibetan community.  Joe will be deeply missed by all who knew and worked with him these past decades.

Joe completed his BA and majored in Math at the University of Calgary. He moved to Victoria to work at the Esquimalt Naval Base, then to Ottawa to work for a computer company for two short years but returned to his beautiful Vancouver Island he loved so much, and continued to work at Naval Base prior to transferring to Royal Roads Military College where he retired from in 1995. Joe was an avid gardener and with his daughter, Tsering, spent many wonderful years working and enjoying their beautiful garden.

In Joe’s memory, donations may be made to: Provincial Respiratory Outreach Program BCITS, 103-366 East Kent Avenue South, Vancouver, BC V5X 4N6.
