Protest Rally against China in Pink City

Jaipur, 29.4.08: Himalaya Parivar - Jaipur chapter organize a protest
rally and seminar on “Indian People’s Movement in Support of Tibetan
Cause” in the heart of the Pink city, with mass participation of 600
Tibet supporters from Jaipur and nearby towns of Rajasthan. The rally
was flag off by Mrs. Dolma Gyari (Deputy Speaker Tibetan
parliament-in-exile), Shri Indresh Kumar Ji (Patron, Bharat Tibbat
Sahyog Maanch BTSM) and Shri Kali Charan Saraf (Education Minister of
Rajasthan) at 5.30pm from Sanganeri Gate. The protesters wearing white
t-shirt with “Free Tibet” slogan and portrait of His Holiness the Dalai
Lama proceeded through the well known Babu Bazaar where the Mayor of
Jaipur Shri Ashok Pranami and his office gave traditional welcome to the
protesters with shower of flowers in clear indication of city’s support
for the Tibetan cause. The rally then cross the New Gate and concluded
at the Chamber of Commerce, covering 2 kms of the city heart.

The protesters shouted slogan like “Tibbat Ki Azadi, Bharat Ki
Suraksha”, “Bharat Sarkar Saat Doh”, “Chin-Tibbat ko azad Karo, Kailash
Mansarovar ko Mukht Karo”,etc.

Mrs.Dolma Gyari and Shri Indresh Kumar separately gave press briefing to
the local print and electronic media on the ongoing Tibet crisis.

Later at 6.30pm symposium on Tibet was held at the Chamber of Commerce
hall where many eminent personnel of Jaipur city were also present
during the occasion. The occasion was presided over by Shri S. N. Gupta,
Chairman, State VAT Committee & Chairman, Public Grievances Cell, Govt
of Rajasthan.

The Chief Guest, Honorable Education Minister of Rajasthan, Shri. Kali
Charan Saraf stated that more International pressure should build up
against the Chinese government better it’ll be in bringing under control
the atrocities faced by the Tibetan inside Tibet everyday. He
appreciated the Himalaya Parivar for organizing such a rally in Jaipur
and also for making him part of it.

“We really need help from India and Indian people,” said the Speaker,
Mrs. Dolma Gyari (Deputy Speaker of Tibetan Parliament-in-exile) after
highly appreciating the Himalaya Parivar for organizing rally cum
symposium in the ancient city of Jaipur. Mrs. Gyari earlier had brief
meetings with Shri.Indresh Kumar Ji and also Rajasthan Education
Minister, Shri Kali Charan Ji. Mrs.Gyari added that since March 10
Uprising this year, situation in Tibet is deteriorating day by day and
currently marshal law like situation prevails inside Tibet. She
concluded her speech with a slogan “Tibbat Ki Azadi, Kailash Mansarovar
ki Mukhti” to which the gathering of 300 people shouted “Tibbat Ki
Azadi, Bharat Ki Suraksha”.

The main speaker of the occasion Shri Indresh Kumar, Patron of BTSM,
brief on the bully attitude of the Chinese government towards Indian
government. He claims that people of India always consider Tibet as an
Independent nation and will always stand by Tibetan people in their
struggle for freedom.

The Symposium concluded at 8pm with dinner. Later in the evening program
was telecast in most of the local channels.
