inside ethnic Tibetan areas in China.

Based on communications today with Tibetans and contacts in local
organizations on the ground:
* The main Tibetan area affected has been the Aba Tibetan Autonomous
Prefecture in Sichuan province, the death toll is though to be very
much higher than the official count.

* We provide a map of the Earthquake and Tibetan areas.

The main area affected has been the Aba Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture
in Sichuan province.
* Aftershocks continue there and as far away as Dhartsedo. This
continues to cause anxiety.
* News is still limited by lack of mobile phone connections and the
landline and internet connections are down.

* It is hoped that by Thursday evening the roads will be reopened to
Aba, heavy-lifting gear has been unable to get through blocked roads
to the disaster areas.

* The current death tolls are believed to be higher than the official
161 for Aba, in addition to this there are 6 confirmed deaths in Dhartsedo

* In Tanba (also spelt Danba) there has been damage to historic buildings.
