The "Tour of Peace -- Marathon for Dialogue" organized by The Tashi
Delek Foundation of Caceres and the Casa del Tibet Foundation of
Barcelona finished successfully along Europe. The objective of this
tour was to bring an urgent request to the European Parliament to
establish a sincere, truthful and immediate dialogue between the
Dalai Lama and the Chinese President Hu Jintao.

From their departure on May 28 from Caceres until June 18 in
Strasbourg, the team has been on more than 10, 000 kilometers. Every
step along the way the group experienced major support from people.
Stops on the route were Barcelona, Paris, London, Amsterdam, Hamburg,
Berlin, Wien, Munich, Milan, Geneve, Zurich, Strasburg, Frankfurt and
Brussels. The tour passed through European cities in addition to
collecting signatures for the SOS Tibet campaign, to be delivered to
the European Parliament together with the petition.

On June 17 the delegation of the Tour represented by the Director of
Casa del Tibet Foundation of Barcelona Ven. Thubten Wangchen and
Director of the Foundation Tashi Delek of Cáceres, Ildefonso Pañero
were officially received in the European Parliament of Strasbourg by
Thomas Mann leader of the parliamentary subgroup "Friends of Tibet",
Deputy Maria Badia of the Socialists, Ignasi Guardans and José
Ortuondo Larrea of the Alliance of the Democrats and Liberals of Europe.

Ven. Thubten Wangchen in the name of the Casa del Tibet Foundation of
Barcelona presented some 30,000 signatures gathered across the
internet and in support of the campaign S0S Tibet for meaningful
dialogue between the exiled Tibetan spiritual leader and Hu Jintao.

The European MPs who received the delegation of the tour informed
that His Holiness the Dalai Lama is officially invited to speak in
the European Parliament next December.
