Dharamshala -- The former members of the Kashag (Kasurs) and members of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile have to confirm their attendance during the special meeting in November, the Tibetan Parliamentary Secretariat said in an announcement issued Monday.

Each member has to send a short written letter of confirmation to the Tibetan Parliamentary Secretariat before 31 October 2008, the announcement noted.

In an earlier announcement issued on 3 October, the members of Parliament representing the four schools of Tibetan Buddhism and Bon have been assigned the responsibility to select their respective members who will participate in the special meeting.

The representatives from the Tibetan settlements, local assemblies and Tibetan Freedom Movements have been directed to take collective responsibilities to solicit suggestions and opinions from the Tibetan people and submit a detailed report in writing at the meeting.

Similarly, representatives of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, members from the Tibetan schools, four schools of Tibetan Buddhism and Bon, and autonomous institutions and overseas Tibetan associations have been asked to gather opinion from the people under their respective jurisdictions.

Voluntary participants (25 from India, Nepal and Bhutan. Not exceeding 25 from other countries) taking interest and responsibility in participating in Tibet related activities, must send their brief bio data and email address before 20 October. Accordingly, the Parliamentary secretariat will send a notification to each applicant.

The participants have to report to the Parliamentary secretariat before 16 November.

The Kasurs and former MPs have to bear their own travel expenses during the meeting. Requests from the former members of the Kashag and MPs facing financial constraints to pay the travel expenses would be given consideration. The accounts of other members have to be settled with their respective offices, organizations or associations.

The Kasur, MPs and the representatives from overseas Tibetan associations have to pay for their daily expenses including food and lodging. Likewise, other members attending the meeting have to arrange their rooms on their own.
