"On my part, I remain committed to the process of dialogue. It is my firm belief that dialogue and a willingness to look with honesty and clarity at the reality of Tibet can lead us to a viable solution."

This Tibetan singer has already found fame with a
flinty autobiography that describes fleeing
Chinese occupation for exile, first in India,
then in England. This second album has elements
of all three countries. Soname's ethereal vocals
soar almost unaided for much of the time, evoking
the lost peaks and lakes of her homeland.
Elsewhere, she's complemented by a mixture of
eastern tablas and flute and western strings and
woodwind. Like Soname's book, the record manages
to conjure Buddhist spirituality while remaining
rooted in the bustle of the everyday. A lovely creation.
