Acha Tsendep, the all-female Tibetan pop group,
is to take part in a Bird’s Nest "Legend of The
Dragon - Jackie Chan and his friends Concert
2009" charity event in Beijing on May 1, reported
China’s official Xinhuanet Apr 28. They will
perform at the National Stadium with other top
singers, becoming the first ethnic pop vocal
choir to make commercial performance there, the
report said. All proceeds from the ticket sales will go to charity.

Since they stood out in the Young Singer's
Contest 2002 sponsored by CCTV, the trio has been
supportive of public welfare, and have donated
thousands of books to 13 primary schools in poor
areas in Tibet, the report said.

The group has cooperated with Chan before. In a
song titled "Love Flies " in their newly-released
album "Meet You", Chan tries for the first time
to sing in the Tibetan language, the report said.

Chan is a favourite goodwill ambassador of the
Chinese government and was recently severely
criticized for questioning the value of granting freedom to the Chinese people.
