Evidence is emerging that Phurbu Rinpoche may
have been set up by corrupt land developers in
tamden with corrupt officials, police, army and communist party members.

Burried in the charges laid against him is a
baseless assertion that he has built an old
peoples home on stolen land or in the court
documents it is stated "Illegally occupied State Property"

Phurbu Rinpoche’s Chinese lawyers have argued
that he had already legally acquired state-owned
land-use rights, and defining his management of
the old people’s home "as the crime of occupying
state property is a failure of common sense as
well as inhumane and irrational!"

Phurbu Rinpoche' work is well known, His concerns
were also especially directed towards children’s
health and education. For a few years, he also
personally took care of a young mentally
challenged ethnic Chinese child apparently
abandoned by his parents at a very young age.
While waiting for local authorities to agree on
the appropriate measure, Panrina Rinpoche took
the young child home where he lived for a couple
of years and showered him with attention and
affection. He personally attended to the child’s
home tutoring, reflecting Panrina Rinpoche’s
indiscriminate attention to children and lack of hatred for the Chinese.”

It is quite common in China and in Tibet for
corrupt officials to try and grab land and then
sell it on to developers making money from the
sale and over riding peoples ownership of land plots.

The persecution of Phurbu Rinpoche is startling
in it's audacity in that he is well known by many
many people and is above reproach, the police
statements about a gun and amunition he is meant
to have had are all contradictory and do not
tally, the only evidence presented to court was a
confession extracted by torture.

Phurbu Rinpoche's home is open to all from
morning to night and unlike Communist Party
Officials there are no guards and no checks on
who enters or leaves his home, the evidence was
certainly planted by officials in collaboration with each other.

Torture and trial by kangaroo court can be seen here
