Dharamshala: The Environment and Development Desk at the Department of Information and International Relations (DIIR) of the Central Tibetan Administration participated in a 3-day global conference on climate security at Palampur near here.

The World Council for Corporate Governance, World Environment Foundations and Institute of Directors jointly organised the "Global Convention on Climate Security: Sustainable Development and Governance for Climate Security" at SM Convention Centre, Palampur, from 12-14 June.

Mr. Tenzin Norbu, Executive Head of Environment and Development Desk, presented a paper titled ‘Climate Change on the Roof of The World’, which was accepted and included in the convention proceedings. (Click here to view the paper)

The convention drew in scientists, civil servants, decision makers, researchers, social workers, anthropologist and industrial representatives and chief executive officers, from both regional and international levels.

Such conferences and conventions offer a good platform to raise awareness about Tibet and its environment, Mr Norbu said.

Mr Norbu has received an invitation from the organisers to present the same paper in one of the concurrent sessions of the convention.
