GUWAHATI, Nov 1 -- The Government of India is
making extra security arrangements for Tibetan
spiritual leader Dalai Lama during his proposed
visit to Tawang from November 8. Official sources
said that with China making objections to the
visit of Dalai Lama, the visit is hit by
controversies and with devotees from different
parts of India and abroad visiting Tawang during
the visit, the Government is not taking any
chances. We do not think that anyone would cause
harm to Dalai Lama but with a good number of
devotees coming from outside, we cannot take any
chance as the possibility of unwanted elements
sneaking into Tawang in the guise of devotees
cannot be ruled out, sources added.
