You don't have to be rich to be my friend
You don't have to be smart to be in my world
You just have to be thoughtful to be my friend
You just have to be mindful to be in my world

I will not be hurt if you wish not to be my friend
I will not be troubled if you wish not to be in my world
I will simply go on living with or without you
But life would be much better with you in my world
Even more glorious were you a champion of a free Tibet

You don't have to be generous to be my friend
You don't have to be attractive to be in my world
You just have to be loving to be my friend
You just have to be yourself to be in my world

I will not be bruised if you wish not to be my friend
I will not be harmed if you wish not to be in my world
I will simply go on living with or without you
But life would be much sweeter were you in my world
Even more marvelous were you a patron of a free Tibet
