Kalon Tripa to visit South India and Germany

Dharamshala -- Kalon Tripa Prof Samdong Rinpoche will leave
Dharamsala on Monday (23 August) for a twelve-day visit to South
India and Germany.

Kalon Tripa will take part in the first National General Meeting of
Tibetans at Lunsung Samdupling Tibetan Settlement in Bylakuppe in
Karnataka scheduled from 26 - 31 August.

Kalon Tripa be in Bangalore on 29 August at the invitation of Tibet
Right and Freedom Restoration Committee. The committee, which
consists of Tibetan college students, helps to create awareness on
Buddhism and politics among Tibetan students. Kalon Tripa will speak
to a group of Tibetan college students on 'Tibet's culture
preservation and responsibility of the Tibetan people in exile' at
The Dalai Lama Institute for Higher Education.

Kalon Tripa will leave Bangalore for Frankfurt on 30 August. He will
attend a function in Wiesbaden in southwestern Germany marking the
resignation of Mr Roland Koch, the governor of the German state of
Hesse and deputy leader of Angela Merkel's Christian Democrats, from
all his political offices. Mr Koch is a long time friend of His
Holiness the Dalai Lama and supporter of Tibet's cause. He highly
commends His Holiness the Dalai Lama's firm commitment to peaceful
methods to raise awareness around the world of the plight of his people.

Kalon Tripa will leave Germany for Bangalore on 31 August.

He will attend the long life prayer ceremony for His Holiness the
Dalai Lama to be organised by the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile at Sera
Thekchenling Sermey Thosam Norgyeling Monastery on 1 September.

He will attend the landmark commemoration of the 50th anniversary of
the Tibetan democracy day at Bylakupee on 2 September.
