BEIJING, Jan 12 (Reuter) - A Sino-U.S. aluminium joint venture in China's
northwestern province of Gansu plans to produce 70,000 tonnes of aluminium in
1996, a company official said on Friday.

The output was about the same as that in 1995, the official said. He
declined to provide further details.

Yellow River Aluminium Industry Co Ltd was established in January 1995
and capitalised at several billion yuan.

Kaiser Aluminium Corp of the United States holds a 49 percent stake. Its
