Tibetan Youth Association in Europe (TYAE) Press Release
Zurich, 28th September
Zurich -- The Tibetan Youth Association in Europe
(TYAE) has officially launched its campaign
Deine Stimme entscheidet (your voice decides)
on Saturday, September 25th 2010. Therefore, TYAE
has invited all TYAE members and everyone else
interested in this issue to an Open Talk about
the crucial Kalon Tripa and Chitue elections in 2011.
More than 50 young Tibetans from all over
Switzerland gathered to attend the event.
The meeting was separated into two parts. In the
beginning, there was a brief introduction of the
governmental structure of the Central Tibetan
Administration, of the election process and
especially of the meaning of these elections. In
a second part, all current Kalon Tripa and
European Chitue candidates were presented to the
audience. Finally, an open talk took place with
the participants discussing the candidates
profile and political programs. A large band
width of diverse positions quickly turned the
event into a passionate debate in between the
Swiss Tibetan youth. To catch the mood of the
upcoming generation, TYAE hold a simulated election at the end of the meeting.
We also launched our website:
http://www.deine-stimme-entscheidet.org
The Website is in German due to its focus on the
large number of young Tibetans living in
Switzerland. In the section Kandidaten
(Canidates), we published our political
questionnaires, which we sent to all the Kalon
Tripa and Chitue Candidates. The very interesting
questionnaires were published in English and translated into German.
Additionally, our website features unique video
statements of the candidates, background
information about the elections and exciting articles.
