PATNA: Tibetan spiritual guru Dalai Lama on Thursday congratulated CM Nitish Kumar over his overwhelming success in the just-concluded assembly elections.

In a letter to Bihar CM, the Dalai Lama said that people of the state would continue to benefit from his leadership. "Your re-election as the CM is a clear indication of the people's recognition of your able leadership in bringing prosperity, growth and stability in the state," he mentioned in his letter.

"As I mentioned to you when we had last met in Patna during the inauguration of the Buddha Temple, the real blessing for Bihar must be achieved through the efforts of political leaders, which I believe you have demonstrated. Your tenure as CM has been crucial in this achievement," the spiritual head added.
