September 26, 2007

PALO ALTO, Calif. September 25, 2007 (AP) - Stanford University
announced today the acquisition of historic recordings of spiritual
leader Dalai Lama, author Joseph Campbell and other modern luminaries.

The recordings of interviews are part of a 6,000-hour collection
Stanford purchased from the New Dimensions Broadcasting Media Network --
an independent, listener-supported organization founded in 1973.

The Ukiah-based group emphasizes radical thinkers, spiritual leaders,
indigenous voices and social architects.

Stanford would not disclose how much it paid for the collection, which
also includes recordings of Buckminster Fuller, Timothy Leary, Deepak
Chopra, Bill Moyers, Alice Walker, Maya Angelou and about 3,000 others.
