Over 170 delegates from 49 regional chapters
across India and other countries are taking part
in the 9th three-yearly General Body Meeting of
the Tibetan Women’s Association (TWA) which
opened on Apr 10. The meeting will continue till
Apr 15, culminating in the election of a new Central Executive Committee.
Those present at the inaugural meeting, which was
held at the TCV Dekyi Tsering Hall, included the
current central executive members, led by
President Dr B Tsering, special guest and the
first TWA president Kasur Rinchen Khando, Deputy
Speaker of the Tibetan Parliament-in-exile Dolma
Gyari as chief guest, Tbietan NGO representatives, and others.
With a membership of over 15, 000, TWA is the
second largest Tibetan NGO, after the Tibetan Youth Congress.
