A 16-member delegation of foreign journalists completed a four-day visit to Lhasa on Monday. The tour of the capital of Tibet Autonomous Region was organized by the Information Department of China's Foreign Ministry.

This is the government's latest invitation allowing foreign reporters into Tibet. The delegation consisted of journalists from American and European media organizations, including the Associated Press and London's Times newspaper.

The reporters wanted to know more about the education of the Tibetan language in local schools. They also asked students about last year's unrest in Lhasa. Later, they visited Tibet University, where experiments are being conducted to encode Tibetan language onto computer keyboards.

Ringen Morpo, from Tibet University, said, "We have encoded different software into Tibetan. The systems include Linus, Windows, Office, Word, and Excel. "

The delegation toured Lamaseries and the Lhasa Railway station. They also visited common tourist sites where they spoke to Tibetan lamas, herdsmen, farmers, as well as tourists. And some local officials accepted interviews by the journalists.
