Kathmandu, Nepal (AHN) - The Nepal government on Sunday put a ban on all
kinds of demonstrations targeting against the Chinese rule in Tibet.

The home ministry in a handout said all activities against China's Tibet
autonomous region is prohibited. The handout also asked all to refrain from
engaging in any such demonstrations.

The government's order issued ahead of the planned 'Free Tibet'
demonstration, scheduled to start in the capital Kathmandu from Monday
coinciding with the birth anniversary of Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai
Lama.

The ministry expressed Nepal's commitment towards maintaining friendly ties
with neighboring nations not allowing its land in protesting against them.

The ministry also called on all not to get involve in any activities that
may harm the relations of Nepal with neighboring nations, and warned of
action if found doing so.

The government also reiterated its stance favoring the 'One China Policy' in
the wake of Nepal's lawmakers' meeting with exiled Tibetan leader Dalai Lama
in India.
