From Tibet, with love

January 22, 2008

The Times of India
January 20, 2008

The mood was upbeat. The cool morning added its elegant touch to the
opening of the Tibetian festival for non-violence at a leading centre
for arts.

The festival started with short speeches by art patron Urmila Kanoria,
danseuse Mallika Sarabhai, architect B V Doshi and Kesang Takla, the
Minister for Information and International Relations, representing the
exiled Tibetan Government in India. This unique festival aims to open
new chapters in peace and non-violence.

The festival saw the opening of the exhibition titled A long look
homeward. From the much-celebrated Thangka paintings from Norbulingkha,
to a talk on Tibetian medicine, the festival brought finer nuances of
Tibet’s rich culture to Ahmedabad. The festival will continue till
January 20.
