Tibet's spiritual leader the Dalai Lama says
China's policies towards ethnic minority
populations have failed to foster trust and need to be reviewed.
Speaking to reporters in Geneva, the Dalai Lama
said money alone will not improve China's image,
and trust is based on transparency and truth.
The Dalai Lama said Beijing has not changed its
attitude towards Tibet, and while Beijing knows
he's not seeking Tibetan independence, Chinese
leaders use the argument against him when it suits them.
The Dalai Lama fled to India 50 years ago, after
China crushed an uprising in Tibet.
