Nepalese and Chinese government officials are to
hold a weeklong meeting in Tibet’s capital Lhasa,
beginning Aug 15, to discuss border management
and, especially, the deployment of more than
12,000 Armed Police Personnel (APF) along the
Nepal-Tibet border, reported Telegraphnepal.com,
Aug 13. After that meeting, “more than 12
thousand Armed Police men would be patrolling the
border with China in 18 adjoining districts”, the report said.

It said the Chinese side had assured Nepal that
it would provide the entire physical support
needed to the Nepali security personnel, "who
will be on duty to curb anti-china activities,
minimize illegal trade and stop miscreants from sneaking into China."

The Nepalese team for the Lhasa meeting will
include high ranking police and APF officers and
Chief District officers of Mustang, Solukhumbu,
Rasuwa, Humla, Sankhuwasabha, Dolakha, Taplejung
and Sindhupalchwok, the report said.
