Tibet sees a growing foreign investment trend and in 2007 the Tibet
Autonomous Region had approved 19 foreign investments there, contractual
foreign investment US$41.72 million and actual used foreign investment
US$24.18 million. The region brought in record foreign direct investment
(FDI) and saw the fastest FDI growths in 2007. Some focused foreign
investment projects showed progress in 2007 and this had indirectly
promoted the tourism industry development in the Region. Tibet has kept
an annual tab on foreign invested enterprises for the first time.
