Local authority in Dolakha district has arrested at least 10 Tibetans who
sneaked into Nepali territory illegally.
The Tibetans were arrested two days ago, Kantipur FM reported. They are
likely to be handed over to immigration department today for necessary
action.
The eight men and two women were arrested by police from Jagate in Barang
VDC. They had entered Nepal through Lamabagar. The identities of the
arrested people have been kept secret.
The increasing number of Tibetans leaving Tibet to join anti-China protests
under the leadership of Dalai Lama through Nepal in the last few years has
raised concerns of China.
The Chinese government has repeatedly asked Nepal to stop all forms of
anti-China activities in its soil.
