Senior monks of Namgyal Monastery lead prayer
service at Tsuglagkhang for victims of

Dharamshala: Hundreds of Tibetans converged at
the main Buddhist temple (Tsuglagkhang) here
Tuesday morning to offer special prayers for
thousands of people adversely affected by torrent
of floods and mudslides in Drugchu region of
Tibet's northeastern Amdo Province.

Tibetans prayed for an early attainment good
rebirth of those killed and quick recovery of
those injured. Prayers were also offered for the
well-being of the entire humanity.

The hour-long prayer service was organised by the
Kashag and the Department of Religion and Culture
of the Central Tibetan Administration.

Senior monastic officials of Namgyal Monastery
led the service which was attended by entire
staff of the administration and  hundreds of
Tibetans from both monastic and lay communities in Dharamsala.

The death toll has risen to 337, with 1,148 still
missing, China's state media say.
