JUST LISTEN TO KASHAG
12. JUST LISTEN TO KASHAG
Letter to WTN Editors
I read with great admiration the articles of Tenzin Tsundue and Larry
Gerstien. I salute their sense of justices and determination to work and
protest Chinese leaders for the restoration of freedom, Human Rights and
above all for Independent Tibet as Nation. From the Core of my heart I thank
them for all they did for Tibetans and Tibet.
But, I beg to differ from them this time.
Our Kashak has requested all Tibetans and Tibet Support Groups to with hold
any protest during Hu Jintao's US and Canada visit. We have the
responsibility to comply with our Kashak's request. If we don't, who would
then?
If we don't regard our Government and abide by its pursuance and policies we
have no legal or otherwise way to demand Hu Jintao or any other Chinese
leaders to heed and accept our Kashak's point of view.
Of course, Tibet is our Birth right, but to help our Government realize its
objectives for our people, our culture and our nation is our Birth Duty. We
can not shirk from this bounden duty, as we are part of our Government. Can
we?
We have every right to raise our views and concerns to our Government, but
we can not go against it just because we are democratic. We can just be
indifferent to it.
Our Kashak has always tried to implement HH the Dalai Lama's wishes and
visions for Tibet and Tibetans. We read and heard His Holinesse's latest
10th March statement to refrain from protest demonstrations against visiting
Chinese leaders. If we regard His Holiness as our leader, we need to follow
His lead. This is the Time to help Him realize His Goal.
