HOUR OF SOLIDARITY FOR TIBET - AUG. 24, 2008
What: An Hour of Solidarity for Tibet as the Olympic Curtain Comes Down
When: Sunday, August 24, 12 noon to 1 pm
Where: Human Rights monument, Elgin street at Lisgar, Ottawa
Who: All are welcome!
Why: The closing ceremonies of the Beijing Olympics mark the beginning of a dangerous time for the people of Tibet. As the Olympic spotlight dims and media attention turns away from China, the government may resume the violent repression that it tried to hide from international journalists in March.
Please join us for a quiet gathering to show solidarity with the Tibetan people as they enter this worrisome period.
