« Le Canada peut, dans une atmosphère cordiale et constructive, demander au gouvernement chinois de résoudre la situation du Tibet. »

Canada Tibet Committees joins coalition presenting recommendations for Canada's CSR strategy

January 13, 2014

January 13, 2014 - As a member of the Canadian Network on Corporate Accountability (CNCA), the Canada Tibet Committee has submitted a series of five recommendations to the Government of Canada’s “Corporate Social Responsibility Strategy Review”.   The recommendations reflect priorities within the CNCA’s “Open for Justice” campaign.

The review is part of a five-year reflection that will help the Government of Canada develop a plan to better assist Canadian extractive companies operating abroad.

“The Tibetan people have economic rights that must be respected and protected when foreign companies invest in Tibet”, said Carole Samdup, Executive Director of the Canada Tibet Committee.  “In the absence of protection by the Government of China, the Government of Canada must take steps to ensure that Canadian companies do not violate human rights in Tibet.”
