A Tibetan female asylum seeker will be sent back
to Tibet from Sweden writes DN. Both The Swedish
committee on Tibet and the Tibetan Association in
Sweden are very critical and fear she will face imprisonment and torture.

She has participated in demonstrations in Sweden
and her family is well-known political opponents
against the Chinese regime. Once you have fled
the country you show that you are a traitor in
the eyes of the regime and that is enough to be
arrested, says Lhaksam Tsering, chairman of the Tibetan Association to DN.

The deportation was decided by the Migration
board and even though the woman appealed, the
decision stood. The Migration Board claims that
they have come to the conclusion that she does not face the risk for torture.

-Not even Tibetans who are Swedish citizens dear
going there on vacation says Sofia Eriksson at
the Swedish Committee on Tibet to DN. –That shows
exactly how tough the situation is.

The decision can be changed if new information
that the Migration Bard was not aware of, is presented.
